چکیده

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are drivers of plant communities as they influence competition by increasing plants’ root absorptive surface. As such, AMF could be an important tool for ecological restoration. However, a lack research using in sagebrush steppe implies need more assessments its efficacy. Here, we assessed the ability commercial inoculum to colonize and growth three native Artemisia spp. (sagebrush) shrubs exotic Taeniatherum caput-medusae (medusahead). We expected increase colonization biomass production with addition inoculum. Before testing inoculum, viability was examined Trifolium incarnatum (crimson clover) autoclaved soil. Next, factorial greenhouse experiment conducted evaluate target species when grown live or field soil from disturbed (early seral) site. Inoculation resulted average 24.82% ± 4.86% T. but failed any had little no on All were colonized soil, averaged 889 mg, 530 323 1 852 respectively; however, all greater soils (1 620 706 371 3 902 respectively). Our results reveal differential effects highlight assess efficacy before application.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi regulate soil respiration and its response to precipitation change in a semiarid steppe

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are critical links in plant-soil continuum and play a critical role in soil carbon cycles. Soil respiration, one of the largest carbon fluxes in global carbon cycle, is sensitive to precipitation change in semiarid ecosystems. In this study, a field experiment with fungicide application and water addition was conducted during 2010-2013 in a semiarid steppe in ...

Enhancement of clover growth by inoculation of P-solubilizing fungi and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.

This study evaluated the synergism between several P-solubilizing fungi isolates and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi to improve clover ( Trifolium pratense) growth in the presence of Araxá apatite. Clover was sown directly in plastic pots with 300g of sterilized washed sand, vermiculite and sepiolite 1:1:1 (v:v:v) as substrate, and grown in a controlled environment chamber. The substrate was ferti...

Inoculation of woody legumes with selected arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and rhizobia to recover desertified mediterranean ecosystems.

Revegetation strategies, either for reclamation or for rehabilitation, are being used to recover desertified ecosystems. Woody legumes are recognized as species that are useful for revegetation of water-deficient, low-nutrient environments because of their ability to form symbiotic associations with rhizobial bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi, which improve nutrient acquisition and help plants to ...

Responses of Guava Plants to Inoculation with Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi in Soil Infested with Meloidogyne enterolobii

In the Northeast of Brazil, expansion of guava crops has been impaired by Meloidogyne enterolobii that causes root galls, leaf fall and plant death. Considering the fact that arbuscular mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) improve plant growth giving protection against damages by plant pathogens, this work was carried out to select AMF efficient to increase production of guava seedlings and their tolerance ...

Response of Sesbania grandiflora to Inoculation of Soil with Vesicular-Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi.

A greenhouse experiment was conducted to determine the influence of two tropical isolates of Glomus fasciculatum and Glomus mosseae on the nutrient uptake and growth of Sesbania grandiflora. Inoculation of sterile soil with the fungi significantly improved growth and nutrient uptake by S. grandiflora, but the response of the legume was markedly better when the soil was inoculated with G. fascic...
